After watching the Sci-Fi dystopian Ex Machina, Ivan poses a very interesting and highly probable question with regards to the impending General Artificial Intelligence and robot centric world we will face - could humans fall in love with Robots? We explore the dynamics at play, including conception, rights of robots, responsibilities of humans, the importance of ensuring robots and General AI have evolved to align with human values and morals, what consciousness would like for robots and a whole lot more. If you're into a good, deep thinking, hypothetical conversation, still based on quite probable events in the near future, this is the show for you. Enjoy!! Ever heard of a FATBERG? In today’s show the boys discuss their personal preferences of the jobs they DON'T envy. There are certain industries and jobs that just make your spine tingle, sometimes there just simply gross. Other times certain jobs have just too much pressure and stress. You might find yourself being yelled at! Stuck in a drain! Working alongside a boss who stresses you out! Covered in bugs or maybe just elbow deep in grease (or pop)! A light hearted discussion in their own special JTW way. Enjoy! In today’s show the boys discuss the true pros and cons of achieving the ultimate desires. A podcast inspired by the story of The number one contender of the UFC heavyweight division, Francis Ngannou. A terrifying heavyweight with a highlight reel of spectacular knockouts, will be challenging Stipe Miocic for the title on March 27. This softly spoken heavyweight beautifully describes his 14 month refuge from Cameroon to France. A desire to train in boxing. A desire that took him on a journey of great sacrifices and death defying acts. An amazing story described in detail on the Joe Rogan Experience. Nonetheless the boys ask the question.... are desires really worth the squeeze. Francis’ story is one of thousands that have a happy ending, which makes you ask the question whether desires and their actions are fully analysed and quantified. How much do your dreams and desires impact others? The question is worth asking, ultimately dream chasing is encouraged but should we consider others in our attempt to fulfil what possesses our mind for true happiness! Enjoy!! Well, today’s show is a little different. More like a chat between brother-in-laws. For a while now Daniel had noticed that Ivan is on a different level of thinking. Some would say, vague, not tuned in, off with the fairies.... but nah... Daniel knows Ivan well and he knew that wasn’t the case, if anything it was opposite. Have you ever felt the need to reinvent yourself?  Ever felt like you wanted to explain your state of mind but can’t even begin to comprehend it yourself. Some would say a feeling of lack of purpose or not being challenged enough. Feeling like everything is too easy? So many things to explore? Crave the peace and quiet? Maybe you want to disconnect? Do you ever feel like you're craving that feeling of being pushed to a whole new pace. Is it possibly a mid-life crisis??? A lot of the above doesn’t really flow. The truth is... it doesn’t have to. A state of mind is supposed to be explored and not suppressed. Let’s just say we wouldn’t be surprised if Ivan goes walkabouts in the bush with his son exploring nature, whilst completing complex mathematics and re-designing his personal brand whilst simultaneously joining Elon Musk's exposition to planet Mars. A deep chat about life. Enjoy. This week's show is not what we expected, at least not what Daniel thought it would be. What started off as a brief discussion about the impending probable colonization of Mars took a very quick but related right turn and explored the very likely realisation that human beings as we know them today are in the midst of an evolutionary change. This took us down the rabbit hole, and as true JTW fans would appreciate, we dived deep into some very likely possibilities predicting the fate of mankind, the changes that humans could be facing genetically and ended up very close to uncovering what we believe to be the purest form of human communication. If you like deep discussions, twists and turns, abstract ideas, and scientific based discussion, this episode will both enlighten and worry you. Enjoy the show. In this light hearted episode, the boys discuss dick moves. Very simply, being a douchebag or doing douchebag things. The boys have a good laugh and share some dick moves you should avoid. Enjoy!! There is a level of sacrifice that some can’t even fathom losing. We unwrap the amazing documentary on Netflix called “The Dawn Wall” starring Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson where a perfect example of sacrifice, dedication and obsession resulted in achieving the unimaginable - free climbing El Capitan in Yosemite. In today’s show we discuss what it truly requires to be great, amazing, the best in the world, the stuff of legacy. But what exactly is the cost? There’s always a cost. Whether you like it or don’t believe it, it's damn true! The boys poise the question to each other on what being ultra dedicated and obsessed about achieving a landmark goal really means. The countless hours, meticulous planning and above all, the ultimate sacrifices that take place. Would you be willing to put your obsession above things like your partner? Your kids? Financial impacts? What about those people that take the ride with you? Is there sacrifice to allow you to accomplish your dream a bigger achievement than yours? All discussed, true JTW style. Enjoy Fam!!  About the podcast: Journey to Wherever is a weekly podcast by two mates who also just happen to be brother-in laws, getting together to record discussions that shouldn't be left unsaid. In today’s show the boys start off by giving the short Netflix series, The Queen's Gambit, a mini review. With the series centred around the use of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs), we go on a journey by discussing the relationship and stigma surrounding PED’s as they relate to different sports and industries. It’s common knowledge that PED’s are banned in sports, but why aren’t performers in the arts and music industry subjected to the same scrutiny and drug testing that athletes are? We ask the important questions around why some sports and crafts are subjected to drug testing while others are not. Enjoy the show! In today’s first show for 2021 the boys discuss Jake Paul’s audacious attempt to lure Conor McGregor into a boxing bout and all the stupidity that surrounds it! We thought it was over with Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather, but it seems not. Ivan tells a shitty story and shares his continuous love affair with the outdoors and its temptations, Daniel shares his 2021 attempt to slow down and be even more present with his two boys and how much he’s loving it. Oh and Ivan purchases a Swedish Knife (Mora a.k.a. Morakniv) and Daniel asks Ivan a “how do you like your steak” question!!! Welcome back Fam, enjoy!!! P.S.S Vikings the final season is almost here.... Yyyeesss... 2021 here we come!! In today’s show the boys start a new game called “how do you like your steak?” be warned, this is not a steak episode, it’s not what you think. This is a fun game that you can all play at home, infact, anywhere. We talk Tony Robbins, sausage sizzles, the Netflix series Designated Survivor, Vaccinations and Immunisations, dream homes and much more. Oh and the boys make wild 2021 predictions! In the latest sporting / entertainment news circling the world Logan Paul is set to verse Floyd Mayweather in a so called exhibition bout. To top it off Jake Paul has also challenged Conor McGregor. The boys have a discussion (or more appropriately, a rant) about the upcoming potentially embarrassing event. More importantly we ask the serious question everyone should be asking - where has the power of legitimacy gone? We understand it’s very much entertainment these days, but at what cost? No doubt people will time into the event but is this trend setting a precedent? Do you think it’ll distort standard values, ethics and professionalism in sport? Is this maybe a good thing? One way or another it’s going to be one wacky ride from here on in. Enjoy the show! In this weeks' episode of the show we discuss distractions, speed humps and all those unwanted events that perhaps take you off course from your goals. Whether those goals are work, business or life orientated, they can be distractions. We explore, however, if they really are distractions or could it possibly be a blessing in disguise? This is truly a case-by-case issue and it generally can be a sensitive one, but in general if we all applied a different mindset, one that we will explore during this episode, they could be one of your biggest superpowers.  Regardless whether it's a positive or a negative one, you can use these distractions and implore humility, courage, fearlessness and a true understanding of empathy. In this episode the boys discuss the impact of always striving and aiming to become your authentic self at all times. But for various reasons, for our own protection, we always create a facade. Facades are generally there for protection and overtime we “if” we feel comfortable we slowly reveal our authentic selves. But what if you can’t? You're stuck! You’ve created an alter ego! People love your facade, but you hate it... you're exhausted! How do you get out? Naturally it’s case by case. But a lot of the time it could be a personality clash, sometimes you yourself could be the problem. Aiming for authenticity is the gold standard. But sometimes being your authentic self from the get go may have some negative backlash. In general there’s a feeling out process. A great back and forth in true JTW style. Enjoy!!! In today’s episode we revisit an original topic back in episode 5. Ivan and Daniel often are quite reflective men. They are advocates to the fact that nostalgia nourishes the soul. What better way to nourish the soul than to look back at our favourite TV shows and movies. Magnum PI, Knight Rider, rocketeer, dragon ball, anime, Pokémon, Chuck Norris and many more.... oh and how could we forget the godfather of action, Sylvester Stallone... enjoy About the podcast: Journey to Wherever is a weekly podcast by two mates who also just happen to be brother-in laws, getting together to record discussions that shouldn't be left unsaid. In today’s episode the boys discuss how your safety net has an impact on how your decisions are shaped. If you have something to fall back on then you're likely to take that risk. But if you don’t have one or a very shallow one you're unlikely to make bold moves. But what if you took matters into your own hands, held yourself accountable, made sure you were in the driver's seat and weren’t dependent on others, would your decisions still be altered? Will they be bold? Or daring? Will you play it safe or will you finally understand what it takes to make true decisions regardless of how safe your safety net is or how shallow it may perceive to be? A great back and forth, true JTW style. In today’s episode the boys discuss all aspects of loyalty. But interestingly enough, what if loyalty was a deceptive tactic to gain what you wanted? What if loyalty was a smokescreen to comfortability? Do people choose to say that loyalty is one of their “strengths” only because they’re not ambitious enough to try something new? Overall we understand that loyalty is earned and not given and that it’s an amazing attribute… BUT what if there was something else to the term loyalty? Let's go on a journey and unpack the idea. In this weeks' newest episode of Journey to Wherever we dive into the somewhat controversial topic of kids (and adults alike) and their freedom to use social media. We explore various areas ranging from allowing them to freely create content for the internet, whether it be YouTube, TikTok, Instagram etc. We unwrap what it means to hold them back from creating content and the impact it could have on their future successes in an ever evolving technological world. This episode is important for parents and non-parents alike and offers insights and some techniques to approach the topic safely and effectively. Lastly, we drop a bombshell of an idea for a willing high school teen who is looking for a side hustle content idea - if they are willing to put in the work, the opportunity is there for the taking. In this episode, a remote one, the pandemic strikes in Sydney again. In today’s show the boys get nostalgic. Not only that, we explore what nostalgia brings - love, heartache, reminiscence, joy, laughter, and everything in between. Why is that when we purposely get nostalgic the flood of emotions come rushing in? The boys argue that getting nostalgic is even good for the soul on a weekly basis, almost nourishing it. Nostalgia brings happiness and also keeps you grounded. Not all nostalgic moments are the best, but one thing is for sure... at least you can look back, enjoy, reminisce, and then realise that you can now look forward and enjoy life and repeat this process over and over again. Life is good. Enjoy the show! In this episode the boys start off talking about the current state of things that go beyond funny that it becomes stupid funny. It’s so bad, that it’s funny. But as they do, the show takes a quick left turn and they discuss at length about the challenges of the denial of not being good enough! Should you have the rite to tell someone that they’re not good enough? Should you keep trying or does the realisation finally kick in and you come to terms with the fact that someone has done you a huge favour, or have they? Is it fuel to succeed or is there a hidden lesson? Like always, enjoy the show! In today’s episode the boys explore the history of talking trash! In other words, psyching your opponent out. Who does it best? Connor McGregor, Mohammed Ali, Presidents? Are you an 'actions speak louder than words' person or do you talk your opponent down? Whichever you prefer, wherever the setting is, it's a plausible technique. Having a psychological edge on someone else, especially on a competitive standpoint is huge. But we go further - we explore why today’s modern society is drawn to the back and forth debate. If anything trash talk sells. Trash talk creates discussion and trash talk may even influence your decision on who to put your money on. In a ring, in the office, in an octagon, in politics or even on stage. We discuss the in and outs of “trash talking”. Where are our modern day Superheroes? Is it the likes of your Nelson Mandela’s, Mother Theresa’s, Princess Diana and Ghandi’s who are no longer present? This world needs a current beacon of hope! Is the current state of the world scaring the potential of some of these people to rise? Or do these people exist but don’t have a voice large enough due to the anarchy that is unfolding in our current state? The boys from JTW put the “job” description out there for those who are brave enough. We need a beacon of hope. Help us find this person! Originally planning to release this episode as a bonus show, we flipped the tables and decided to release this as an official episode this week. We joined our other brother-in-law David (there are a few brother-in-law's clearly) in his 'barbershop' for a mid-week deep and meaningful barbershop chat, aka podcast. A fun, lighthearted, 'behind-the-scenes-vibe' type episode that will give you an insight into our fun lives outside of the podcast and our brand. Enjoy the show! About the podcast: Journey to Wherever is a weekly podcast by two mates who also just happen to be brother-in laws, getting together to record discussions that shouldn't be left unsaid. We would absolutely love for our listeners to get in touch to share their thoughts, questions, ideas, advice or feedback. After hitting social media and gauging people's thoughts, we're back to give a quick recap post part 1 of our Cancel Culture episode. This leads us down the path to sharing our concerns with the ever apparent whining, whinging and soft culture that is starting to brew. Why is everyone after a shortcut to EVERYTHING!? Why can’t we instil old' fashioned hard work ethics and discipline to get what we truly want? This is not a “how to episode”, this is a “harden the f**k up episode :) By all means the boys aren’t your typical rough and tough Vikings.... BUT they can both teach you a thing or two about good old fashioned ethics and discipline. The secret is stop looking for shortcuts. Just do the work and have the humility to understand where you need to improve and keep chipping away until you get there... that is it!! Enjoy!!
