She was born in Munich, Germany, has family members who survived the Holocaust; Laurie Schwartz is a woman of strength. She came to the US at 2 yrs old and lived in Newark, New Jersey, until moving to Baltimore three years later. She and her family lived there until recently moving to Arizona.

Laurie has lived and is living a life of entrepreneurialism and taking action. Sound familiar? Join me as I talk with my mom about her survivor mentality and entrepreneurial heart.

Topics include:

  • How did it all start (1:55)
  • Creme de la Creme (3:12)
  • Baking in the family genes (3:46)
  • Laurie has always been intrigued by death and dying (5:01)
  • International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS) (5:17)
  • Laurie’s forte (5:41)
  • Holocaust Survivors (6:07)
  • Coming to America (6:49)
  • Laurie’s dad becoming an entrepreneur with their community (9:40)
  • Laurie’s parents - Immigrants, not able to speak great English, not a lot of family here became very entrepreneurial(13:10)
  • The mindset of entrepreneurs or not being able to trust others (13:42)
  • Lifelong best friend, Sharon (18:15)
  • IANDS to Website Design (31:08)
  • Advice to parents, grandparents, and young entrepreneurs (44:50)

This was such a fun episode to have my mom on! To be able to interview her about entrepreneurialism in her life. This will definitely go down in history for calling someone mommy on the podcast. Don’t miss the advice she gives!
