Know Your Roll you off laughing and never stops. They have a table dynamic of great friends and people that just continue to riff off one another from beginning to end. If you're looking for comedy and some amazing laughs, you've come to right place and need to click play. -WMS
Know Your Roll is a fantastic, side-splitting, original take on the actual play dnd podcast. With some very unique and endearing characters, within the first episode you will be itching for more. Not even the highpitched squeal of bagpipes takes away from this wonderful podcast!
Shameless actual play chock full with glorious and terrible puns, fun battles, a dash of mystery. The DM is great at voices despite many of them devolving into a southern accent, and the group plays off each other like seasoned pros. Definitely a show to listen to if you just want that feeling of being at the table yourself.
Fax Machines are the True Future of the Medieval WorldThis D&D pod is sure to bring on the laughs as well as the gasps! This party works well bouncing joke after joke off of one another while Relic, the walking talking fax machine, is bringing everyone together through friendship and religion, brands included. The DM takes them on a story that weaves them through the Forgotten Realms while they focus on having a good time during the game, and it is heard well throughout! The best way you can tell that you’re doing a great job DMing is how much fun your players are having, and from just listening to a few episodes you can tell they are all having a blast. Join this crew in a light hearted fun fantasy adventure that takes you back to the roots of playing D&D!
As little experience as I may have when it comes to D&D, I'm glad to have found this particular diamond in the vast SEA of shining gems. A creatively curious assortment of characters, played by some of the funniest people I've ever had the pleasure of hearing converse, Know Your Roll has found a way to make ME roll... On the ground, from pure, gut tickling, laughter. It is my own true honour to be able to listen to such a fantastic cast of human beings play out a just as equally fantastic plot of characters and story.KYR is a pinnacle piece of D&D history, in that they have exactly what you need when humour and friendship to sit back to and enjoy. If you're not here for Gorlax's glorious sitting be- I mean, huge muscles, then Relic's innocuous innocence should tickle your fancy. Or even Jeff's glorious duster and... Peculiar entrances into any establishment. Perhaps you can learn about the world through Neko's fresh eyes, gathering knowledge as she does the same. It doesn't matter who you come for, it's the fact that you won't be able to help yourself but stick around.
Know Your Roll stands out from other D&D podcasts by simply being itself. No one is trying to be a rules expert, no one is trying to be the star of the show or using the podcast as an audition tape for (big well-known game.) It’s just a group of friends playing a game and having a good time. Very relaxed and inviting, listening to this game is just like hanging out at my own table. The characters are creative and fun. I’ve enjoyed seeing their growth and I very much look forward to learning even more about Neko, Jeff, Relic and Gorlax moving forward. One of my most favorite things about this show is the world, bad guys and NPCs the DM, Joe, creates. While still having things being uniquely his own, he pulls inspiration from pop culture for his creations. Everything from movies, anime and even songs references can be found in this world. It’s a lot of fun to have those moments of “AHA! I know this one!” Also, the music. It too is made by Joe, it’s perfectly Know Your Roll. It adds to the atmosphere without being distracting, perfectly balanced. If you’re looking for a relaxed, fun and funny adventure you’ll find it with Know Your Roll.
When asked about D&D, most people think of a bunch of people sitting around a table, rolling dice an cracking jokes. Know Your Roll truly encapsulates that mindset, and does it with aplomb. Relic, Gorlax, Neko and Jeff consistently create an atmosphere filled with laughter, and a large piece of credit goes to DM Joe, who masterfully navigates the at times inanity to create a story that enraptures the players and the audience. I would recommend anyone listen in to the adventures of the Slippery Swords!
Know Your Roll is comedy at its best! Every episode has something new and so hilarious that you cannot help but be entertained. This show really is for everyone (that appreciates adult humor) regardless of their experience with D&D
I cannot sing enough praises for this show! The cast members, and DM capture your attention with great characters, hilarious references, a riveting story, and a fantastic chemistry! Whenever I listen, it feels like I am sitting at the table playing with them! If you are looking for a great DnD actual play podcast look no further! Get your bagpipes, milk, and prayers to Moradin ready! Trust me, you'll need them!
