Currently, she is a reporter for KQED Science, where she covers wildfires, space and oceans.Previously, Venton was a staff reporter at KRCB in Sonoma County and a freelancer.Venton studied science communication at the University of California at Santa Cruz.

Marisa Lagos is a reporter who specializes politics. She is currently KQED’s California Politics and Government Desk, and co-hosts a weekly show and podcast Political Breakdown.Previously, Lagos covered San Francisco City Hall for the San Francisco Chronicle. She has also reported for the San Francisco Examiner and the Los Angeles Times. She has won awards for her work investigating the 2017 wildfires and her ongoing coverage of criminal justice issues in California.

Forrest Gander is a poet, translator, essayist, and novelist. Currently, he is Professor Emeritus of Literary Arts & Comparative Literature at Brown University. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 2019 for "Be With." He is chancellor of the Academy of American Poets and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
