In the first episode of 2022, we discuss violence against women. Henna discusses the violent attack on a 17 year old girl and her friend in Dublin which has blinded her. Annaig then outlines the known details (as of date of recording) of the investigation into the murder of Ashling Murphy in Offaly. We compare details of the percentages of violence against women and femicide by relationship of the perpetrator to the victim and in what context the violence and/or femicide occurred. We also chat about the discourse surrounding the “not all men” argument.
