Pastor Matthew J. Watts is the senior pastor of Grace Bible Church and President and CEO of nonprofit, HOPE Community Development Corporation which stands for Helping Others Pursue Excellence. Established in 1997, this venture in his hometown of Charleston, West Virginia is an avenue to build equity in low-income communities. Pastor Watts is a long-time partner of the Perkins family and their foundation based in Jackson, MS, through national civil rights champion, Dr. John Perkins. Watts will be the keynote speaker at the Jubilee Conference in Jackson on January 19 and 20 – a summit on the church and the poor.
