RATING
The Message - 3 Stars Took a while to get started. It got better after the third episode. The twist at the end wasn't that original. LifeAfter - 5 Stars A fast paced sci-fi thriller full of twists. This could be a nice mini series or a great episode of Black Mirror.
The message was a meh for me, but life after is really a great story, with one of the few endings I found really fulfilling in audio dramas. Totally recommended.
[MILD SPOILERS] I was amazed at the quality of the story AND the quality of the production of these two stories. But I was even more amazed when I realized who's behind the production of these two stories. The takeaway - the brand message - will stay with me for a long time after listening to the shows. These two stories are the most delightful example of content marketing I've ever had the pleasure to consume. Please do more of these :)
The first Audio Drama i reallly get into. Loving it.
The Message was quite meh, but I found LifeAfter absolutely captivating
Very compelling storytelling. The only issue I had was that some of the voices sounded similar and weren't introduced first. I listened to both stories in a few sittings.
Ho boy do these two stories make you think about the potential of technology and the possibility of life outside of our own.
I really enjoyed LifeAfter! I was hooked. It felt very similar to the Black Mirror episode "Be Right Back" in the best ways.
LifeAfter has the most satisfying storyline (and ending) of any scripted audio show I've ever listened to. So much so that I'm pretty sure another show that came out a year or two later "borrowed" heavily from it. Better than 90% of the TV shows out there, this is the show I would most recommend for someone who is truly looking for "TV for their ears." I also very much enjoyed The Message, but it didn't stick with me emotionally/mentally as much. I think The Message is like the CW show while LifeAfter is the HBO show, particularly in production quality and performances. But both are brilliantly written.
Great couple of podcasts, The Message is only 8 episodes, but I think more would've spoiled it. Good sci fi story which keeps you listening. Life After however is my favourite out of the two, being related only by story subject ish kinda. Great story indeed, no music or "previously" involved. Wish I could've binged it in one day instead of the two it took. Plays on your AI fears with good acting and, well just a fab and gripping story.
The Message is one of the few audio dramas I've ever listened to multiple times through. Just so well-written, well-acted, and it really pays off. I enjoyed LifeAfter a lot too. Both shows left me with a lot to think about.
I feel The Message was stronger overall, but both stories are great
This was a very intriguing podcast. There was enough mystery and action happening that kept me wanting more. The ending confused me a little, but overall, I'd listen to it all again.
Two of the best Audio Dramas that GE Podcast Theater and Panoply created. These are "must listen" for any audio drama fan.
Great sci-fi audio drama. Unpredictable, fast moving plot in short episodes that keep you wanting to listen to the next one.
This has been the most perfect podcast I've listened to. It grips you, can be a little creepy, and leaves you wanting more.
Excellent production. I loved it.
The production quality, acting, and story in this podcast was incredible. I loved it
I would rate The Message as 4 stars and Life-after as 2. Life-after follows a character who might as well have "easy mark" tattooed to his forehead.
