Aaron Mahnke is a fantastic storyteller. This podcast quickly becomes addicting. If you love anything haunting, creepy, historical and/or mysterious, then you'll love Lore.
This show is why I sometimes weird people out with just how much I know about serial killers. The dark tales that Aaron Mahnke shares in his oh-so-soothing podcaster voice are both enthralling and sometimes disturbing. I have bonded with several people over a mutual love of this show, including my boyfriend. Be careful what happens when you look in the dark corners of history because the truth is more frightening than fiction.
This podcast is well researched and sucks you in. I am pretty easy to scare, so I have to space them out over time! I really enjoy all the legends from different cultures. The Amazon Prime show is worth a watch. It dramatizes and animates the stories for maximum creepiness.
Super calming voice but perfect to listen to on long drives, while doing dishes, or a GREAT place to start when doing research for my own podcast series!! It was introduced to me by a friend and I've been hooked ever since!
The reviews for this podcast drew me in, but Aaron kept me coming back. His voice, cadence, and general style of witty storytelling instantly hooked me. The stories are all wonderful on their own, but the presentation of the stories makes this show a 5/5.
Lore is a award winning podcast based on the scariest real life stories about the dark side of history. Hosted, created and produced by Aaron Mahnke Lore tells stories of creatures, places and people that should only live in our scariest and most twisted nightmares. The thing I love about Lore is that Aaron does an incredible job telling the story along with a well mixed audio backdrop I can spend hours listening to these stories from days gone by to even some more modern Lore stories.- Podcast Junkie
A look at both the history and the effects of myth, tall tales, and local legends on the human mind and spirit. I was reluctant to listen at night: but these are presented in a way that doesn't give me nightmares.
The score by Chad Lawson convinced with Aaron's narration of stories ranging from fascinating to spooky is what keeps me listening to this. I'm not hugely into the paranormal stories, but I appreciate how Aaron approaches them, and I love the topic-based episode format.
