- Season 2, Episode 16 -
🗣In this episode, Aidan will talk to us about his childhood in Bunclody and his mission to bring clean water to hundreds of rural communities in Uganda. 🇺🇬
🇮🇪Aidan Jordan is an Irish citizen born in Kiltealy, a little village located in Wexford County, in Ireland. At age 12, Aidan went to FCJ Convent (Bunclody secondary school), but continued to play Football for his local club in Kiltealy, called “Duffrey Rovers” and developed a keen rivalry with his schoolmates who were playing for "Half Way House Bunclody.”
👨🏻🎓Upon graduation, Aidan went to Maynooth College to become a teacher and enjoyed travelling to the US with Nick, his older brother, and Mary, his girlfriend.
👨🏼🏫After briefly working as a farmer, Aidan ultimately settled down as a geography teacher in St Patrick’s Secondary School, in Navan and branched out into charity work while also traveling with his students to India to immerse them in the culture, visit the slums and work in the orphanages run by the Sisters of Charity.
In 2000, Joan, Aidan's little sister sadly passed away. Together with Nick, they approached a humanitarian organization called "Fields of Life" and decided to build a school in Uganda named after Joan. 🎓Today, 350 Ugandan children are enrolled in Joan's school, who will forever remember her as the angel who saved their lives. 🙏🏻
💦In 2010, Nick founded his own humanitarian organization called “Wells of Life” to build wells in Uganda 🇺🇬, and two years ago, Aidan opened a branch in Ireland to raise funds and awareness for the Ugandan people in desperate need of clean water.
Thank you, Aidan! Your humility and your good heart are a true example for us all 💕
