IBM recently announced DB2 10.5 with BLU Acceleration, which uses a combination of columnar data store, memory optimization and hardware exploitation to improve performance for analytic workloads. Today, we have Phil Downey, worldwide program director for DB2 for Linux, Unix and Windows, joining us to talk a bit about BLU Acceleration, why we developed it, and how companies are using it.
