A hidden gem with solid writing, incredible acting and clearly a very skilled cast. Samala jones is quite unlike any other audio drama I've listened to and it definitely deserves more attention than it garnered. This show has heart, humour and a lot more emotional scenes than I expected. Definitely worth listening to if you're okay with some explicit content.

A man starts performing in porn on his journey to increase Indian representation in porn. The witty comedic dialogue is well-timed. Much of the conflict revolves around the main character's cultural expectations and the stigma around sex work conflicting with his goals, as well as the racism and toxic masculinity inherent in the industry. I think this was planned to be the first season of a longer show, but it was last updated in 2019. It still works as a complete story, though.

Masala Jones is just the right blend of smart, outrageous, and funny. Fun characters and well executed. Congrats on this first-ever Asian-American scripted podcast. Hope season 2 comes soon!
