Danny Rolling, having been groomed as a menace to society from years of abuse at the hands of his father, would go on to murder five college students in Gainesville over a four-day period, causing students to flee the campus in terror and leaving a sleepy college town paralyzed. He mutilated the bodies, posed with them, and even dismembered some of them. After his capture from a botched robbery on September 8th, 1990, it would take another two years to link Rolling, who would become known as the Gainesville Ripper, to these murders. He would later be linked by DNA to the murders of three members of the Grissom family in his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana. He would be charged and plead guilty to five murders, earning himself five death sentences. Rolling was executed by lethal injection at Florida State Prison on October 25th, 2006.
