Forgiveness… sucks… lol totally kidding, but it is really freaking hard. But science shows being hurt or disappointed puts a huge strain your health.⠀⠀Holding a grudge puts you in fight or flight mode which affects your heart rate, blood pressure and immune response. People who hold onto grudges are more likely to experience severe depression, PTSD, they’re more likely to die of heart disease. ⠀⠀Forgiveness reduces cortisol, regulates your stress response reduces risk of heart attach and even helps you sleep. But for most people, forgiveness isn’t just an event, it’s a process that requires a little soul searching and self-reflection. And it’s definitely not always easy. Especially at first. Ep 059: Today’s episode is actionable and timely. It’s New Years day and I know people like you have resolutions.80% of New Years resolutions daily by February and only 8% of people actually achieve their resolution so today we’re going to make sure that you are in that 8%.My whole life I have loved resolutions. I’d write these big lists of things I’ve always wanted to do, places I wanted to go, things I wanted to learn. And I’d get in about a week and then they’d just completely fade away.Last year everything changed, and the one thing I did differently was addressing my limiting beliefs or mindset blocks. And miraculously, I was able to complete stuff. It blows my mind.Today we’re talking to Amanda Crowell. Amanda is an improvement coach with a PhD in cognitive psychology. She works with educators and individuals to help them gain clarity and get better at getting better. She wrote an article on the three mindsets shared by people who actually follow through on their goals and it went viral. So today we’re getting our own little coaching session so we can become one of those people. Just in time for our New Years resolutions.Today we will learn: The three mindset blocks getting in the way of your goals Some methods for keeping your big goals in clear view How to break down your goals so they’re achievable Show Notes: https://mindlove.com/059 Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 051: Did you know that 70% of people who win the lottery or come into large sums of money end up broke? There’s an audiobook called The Power of Ambition by Jim Rohn that says “If someone hands you a million dollars, best you become a millionaire so you can keep the money. If you don’t grow to where your income is, then guess what, your income shrinks to where you are. Become a millionaire not for the million dollars, but for what it will make of you to achieve it.”The biggest thing that gets in our own way is our own mindset about money. And even moreso, our belief systems about what we’re truly worth.Today we’re talking to Ashley Stahl. A couple years ago, Ashley thought she’d made it. She struck it rich in online business. In her late twenties, she had managed to make over 5 million dollars in just a few months, selling an online course. Then she lost it all… and then some. She actually went in debt. What it really came down to was worthiness and what she felt she deserved.Today we will learn: Limiting beliefs that keep us from succeeding How our core values help us find our purpose The importance of relationships for happiness Show Notes: https://mindlove.com/051  Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 052: When we’re young, we tend to think the path to success is straight and clear. We get good grades, maybe go to a good college, get a good job and slowly work our way up the corporate ladder. But in reality, life is full of twists and turns. What we’re doing now may not even be in the same category as the legacy we eventually leave. If you would have told me in high school that in 15 years I would be the host of a podcast helping people to realize the power of their mindsets, I would have been flattered but pretty sure you had the wrong girl. But it is interesting that even before when I honestly had no idea what my purpose was and still somehow there’s this perfect little breadcrumb trail of the value I can offer right now.Our guest today understands this completely. Jessica Honegger has done everything from midwifery in Bolivia, to getting a Masters in Education, to flipping homes in Austin, Texas. It’s only in reflecting back does she see the common thread… which was a desire to find way s to create meaningful opportunity for others.During a trip to Kenya in her teens she first saw the effects of global poverty. That trip ignited the first sparks of the desire to help people with less privilege than us.After having two kids, she decided to extend her family by adopting a boy from Rwanda. But she didn’t have the money. She’ll tell you all the details but basically what began as an idea to make some extra cash to adopt a child turned into a $17 million global business empowering women.Today we will learn: How to overcome fear and go in scared The power of collaboration How to multiply your ideas with an invisible counsel Show Notes: https://mindlove.com/052  Learn more about your ad choices. Is true freedom found in structure? We humans crave freedom. We push against boundaries. We challenge authority. We break the rules. But why is it that often, the more freedom we have, the more imprisoned we feel?
