You know the face even if you've only seen one of the almost 400 episodes of "Law & Order" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" where Dann Florek played the role of Captain Donald Cragen from 1990-2015.

What you probably don't know is that Dann left a potential career in mathematics and physics when cast in a university production of the musical, "Paint Your Wagon". He never looked back. 

His theater training and professional performances on stage in New York and Los Angeles drew the attention of producers and directors in television and film. 

In this Los Angeles interview, Dann offers tips to those of you who may be unduly stressed in audition situations. Dancers, musicians and actors need to realize that other craft categories such as directors, set designers, wardrobe artists, makeup artists ... even casting directors themselves, must audition or interview for their positions on film, television and theater projects. So everyone can learn from Dann.
