Today we are joined St.Paul luminary, poet and organizer Tish Jones to talk about the grass roots community challenge to the 'ReConnect Rondo" land bridge project. We open by discussing the history of the Rondo Neighborhood of St.Paul, a thriving Black community that was intentionally destroyed by the construction of Interstate 94 in the 1960s. From there Tish shares with us the woeful lack of community engagement by MN DOT and ReConnect Rondo in their 500 Million dollar land bridge project, the gentrification and displacement implications of the project and the organizing Tish and others are doing calling for transparency and justice for the Rondo community.
