There are a lot of HERoes fighting this coronavirus pandemic. Get ready to meet one here on MooreStories. Come on along with me as I have a wonderful conversation with Ms. MoNesha R. La Violette, a seasoned Registered Labor and Deliver nurse for a major hospital in Los Angeles. She received her Bachelor of Science, Nursing and Associate of Nursing degrees from Western Governors University and Mount St. Mary’s College, respectively. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis on Africana Studies from California State University, Dominguez Hills and an Associate of Arts in Child Development from Los Angeles Southwest College. MoNesha also holds an advanced practice certification in Public Health. She is recognized by the National Certification Cooperation as a Registered Nurse certified in the specialty of Obstetrics, as well as a Certified Lactation Educator. MoNesha has been working with women and children for over 26 years. She volunteers her time mentoring young women and teaching classes in Health Education and Self Care. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband Jay, and has three adult children, Candace, Jay II, and Jared along with two fur babies, Coco and Chanel.

Monesha and I go way back.  Meeting in elementary school and reconnecting years later. Like myself, Monesha is a cancer survivor and she will walk us through her journey on how breast cancer gave her a new perspective on life and how it gave her the opportunity to live her life in the moment and with intention. As a nurse on the front lines of the coronavirus crises she has an emotional warning to those not taking the pandemic seriously. “This is not a drill,” Monesha warns.

Let’s get into it.   It’s MooreStories Ya’ll
