This story is about Alycen Rowse, a small town girl with big aspirations and one of the “few lifers in a debauchoursly elite field of backstage rock and roll soul.” Join us as we go on a hilarious journey through the 80s, 90s and 2000s when Alycen was the Queen of the Groupie Scene.
Alycen grew up in Southern Missouri, but moving to Salt Lake City at the age of 15 changed everything. With a couple of her girlfriends in tow, they became the Salt Lake City Welcoming Committee, making sure that every band that came to town left happy and eager to return.
In her book, We’ve Got Tonight: The Life and Times of Notorious Groupie Alycen Rowse, you’ll learn about the never changing schedule of rock n roll. How did she get backstage for three decades? How did she come to bed and befriend members of KISS, Aerosmith, Pantera, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Foreigner, Pearl Jam, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi and Mötley Crüe? Alycen teaches you all the tricks and tips to land your rock star, and leave a lasting impression.
You’ll also learn some new Groupie lingo such as who the Front Row Joes and Backstage Betties were and how she literally re-wrote the backstage rules. You’ll also learn how to do a Groupie Drive By. This episode is FUN and the music is AWESOME so buckle in and let’s head back to the 80s and start Runnin’ With the Devil!
