Malene is an artist, activist, legacy maker and speaker. In her art and design studio “Malene B” in Brooklyn, she produces bespoke textiles and ceramics. She is an authority on the cultural traditions and practices of art in the African diaspora and I was excited to hear from her how it translates into her vision of the modern black experience and how she sees clay as a material to communicate and re-connect with her ancestors’ heritage and tradition.

As an artist, she wants you to come and touch her work. Let's find out what she means by this and what role the senses play in her work.
