We start the Theban Cycle with the story of Oedipus.
Today we are looking at the Life and Legacy of Sophocles as prelude to the Theban cycle of myth.
This episode we go over the Sources for Meleager and the story of the Two Atalanta while I so subtle bemoan the lack of clear sources we have.
We look at the start of the Minoan Civilization and how the island was perfectly suited to the dominate roll that it played.
A look at the start of mainland Greece’s History, which is pretty boring at this point.

When I was originally working on the Extra Credits This Episode came after Episode on Medea. I decided to put it here.
Our first Extra Credit episode dealing with the play Prometheus Bound.  We cover the problems with translation, The Manuscript tradition of the play, a discussion of weather or not Aeschylus wrote it and if so the time frame it was written in,
This episode we look at the Playwright Sophocles who was a General, A diplomat and in his spare time jotted down some plays.
In a short episode we are covering Atalanta, our female Hero and the fact she is most likely two separate stories that got smooshed together.
We finish up The Boar Hunt with the Death of our Hero Meleager, mostly by pissing off his mom. We also look at the oddness of the two version of our story and what order they go in.
The last time I had a tooth pulled I sounded like the priest from the Princess Bride. I then proceeded to realize I had wasted a golden opportunity for Pod casting Shenanigans and swore on twitter I would not let such an opportunity pass again.
We look at the list of hunters we still have and continue our story thru the actual death of boar which is about where all hell breaks loose.
