A first-rate storyteller with an easy, conversational style, Weiser humanizes the heroes of these stories and makes it easy to see why mythology remains an evergreen source of inspiration and entertainment. This podcast gets at the true nature of story telling. Imagine you are around a camp fire and an elder begins to tell you a tale from long ago. Except the elder is really snarky and is not afraid to editorialize about the not so modern conceptions of gender roles, race, and so on in the story.You will hear stories from cultures you are not familiar with. You will be surprised with the original tellings of stories Disney has appropriated. You will be entertained be Weiser's take on stories you have heard told since you were a kid.Put this on when you want to get lost in tale.

I Love this podcast. I have listened to it for awhile now on any trip i have and it is so much fun. Jason does a great job injecting humor in the narrative. Keep it up!

I’ve been listening to this podcast on and off for years, and every time I come back to it, I’m reminded how great this show is. I love learning about these myths and legends, and even if I know it, Jason tells each one in a unique and interesting way!

Love the way he synthesizes stories and explains why or how he does it. Super cool. And even though he does adds, he does them in a very creative and fun way.

This show is great to listen to while cooking, cleaning, or chilling out at the end of the day. Once you listen to one show, you'll have to hear the rest. This show makes the stories you always wanted to hear accessible and fun.

I absolutely love this podcast. I'm kind of obssesed with history and mythology and such, but trying to read all the flat out text book based mythology and legends makes it seem less interesting. This podcast was so entertaining, with the random dad jokes and funny comment and character adaptations, I found I really enjoyed listening. I listen to Myths and Legends when I go for a walk, when I clean, or when I'm just sitting around. I have completely rediscovered my love for mythology and history with this podcast. The creatures of the week are the best. The small tidbits of extra folktale and mythology that I get from the creatures are amazing! This podcast it defiantly my favorite! In fact I went back to the very beginning of the podcast just so I could listen to it from the beginning. I looked all over for something I could leave a comment on, considering I can't get iTunes. I can't wait for each episode! Thank you for making such a great podcast!

I love the podcast. I am done listening. I used to listen to older episodes while I sleep, and the ads have made that impossible. I miss Jason reading them, because he didn't wake me up. I get this is a niche issue but I'm out. I keep getting woken up by the ads.

Myths + dad jokes, never fails to make me smile, great storytelling

I'm enjoying this podcast so much. I am somewhat familiar with most of these stories, but this podcast is like a study notes but really fun. I think this one would appeal to anyone who is interested in myths and folklore, and anyone who likes good stories.

I think I've listened to every episode you have and dude you have a talent for story telling.

My husband referred me to listen to this podcast and I'm so glad he did. I'm only on 85B, but I listen to it almost every work shift. You can tell the dedication they put in every episode. Also, the add in lib, makes it way more relatable, and I appreciate the discretion. Little side funny story, I was a bit startled when Jason introduced his wife's name for the first time. Hearing his voice say "my wife, Carissa." My name is Karissa. Same pronunciation. Listening to this man talk about folk lore and then hearing your name felt like I wasn't paying attention, and then get called on by the teacher! Lol! You can tell he's really proud of her, and it's really sweet.

Old stories I thought I knew are brought to life in a fun way. I wish I hadn't burned through the back catalog so quickly. Plus, creature of the week!

This is my go to podcast! The content is amazing and the host is funny and engaging. Lots of episodes that are (older) kid friendly, and there's always a disclaimer on episodes that may not be.

I am constantly having to explain to my friends that this show is why I know so much about mythology. Jason Weiser has a fantastic storytelling style that I have yet to do justice when repeating the stories to my friends. So I just tell them to listen instead. Because you never know what surprising truth you may find.
