I love how much is packed into this 2-episode series. Great quality bite sized paranormal audio drama.

I really appreciate the transparency around this show. Mike DelGaudio (who is one of the highlights of the Sleep No More podcast - and whose Booth Junkie youtube channel is an indispensable resource for vocal actors) wanted to try his hand at producing audio drama's with his talented writer/director wife Tracy Brigden and so they created a small (in length, not scope!) audio drama and documented the process thru bonus episodes. The bonus episodes alone are worth giving this podcast a shot, they're such a perfect little masterclass into crafting audio dramas. But Newfield also shines on its own as a spooky little tale of teenage love and revenge. The voice acting is killer and Tracy's fast-paced story leaves you guessing until the final climax. The only real criticisms I have are slight. I think breaking this story up into more, shorter episodes would have heightened the experience for me (The Tower is a perfect example of a 60-min show broken up into ultra-short episodes) and some of the narration probably could have translated to sound design. Of course, learning what you can communicate thru sound design is a hard skill to master and this is the first production from Roaring Box. More than anything, Newfield makes me excited for what's next in Roaring Box's docket. With as many pros as they have around the table, it would be a crime not to dive into that next project.
