This conversation will unpack the different aspects and themes of police culture and its contribution to some of the problems we see in policing. Coverage will include a discussion around the “Warrior vs. Guardian” mentality, the “Thin Blue Line”, and the “militarization” of police. The focus will be on aspects of police culture that keep the profession stuck, resistant to change, and cause friction with the communities they’re serving.
