Welcome Back to Nooks and Crannies, and thanks for hanging in there during our hiatus.

This week we have a heavy episode, and I am not just talking about the Mutton-Chops!

We kick matters off with a blisteringly uninteresting discussion of the weather, including Evan’s approach to wearing Long-John’s and the sculpted nature of Matty’s Legs.

We invited Edward James Almos aka Matty and that lil rapscallion Lou Diamond Phillips aka Heaven, back on N&C!! This can only mean it’s the resumption of the ANTHROPOLOGY 101 series (6:16); we are talking Darwin and Huxley and after a little interlude, finishing up on Edward Tylor (19:14) who founded the discipline, as well as sent it on a racist path for like, oh I don’t know, only 50+ years, a legacy that anthropology is still trying to shake loose from to this day.

Right in the middle of the racist history of anthropology, is a light-hearted discussion of Matty’s most recent noggin knock (13:10). Matty deploys an amazing segway of his own and uses this trauma as a way of shamelessly plugging the Chronicity Series-to be launched March 2019. This will be a mashup of 16 interviews with podcasters and podcast enthusiasts who spoke to me about their chronic illnesses. Be sure to hit subscribe to not miss out, and tell your friends about this one please, thanks in advance

Because this was such a heavy episode, I decided to throw a Bonus Surprise Segment in at the end to lighten the mood. We are talking Eugenics and Phrenology next week…so, just wanted to leave a good taste in your mouths. Big ol thanks to Paul Csomo, co-host of the Varmints Podcast for indulging me, tune in next week to hear the rest of our diatribes!
