RATING
My new favorite podcast. Occult Confessions is as entertaining as it is informative. The episodes are thoroughly researched, with great writing and solid production for an indie podcast. Hosts Rob C. Thompson and Olivia Litteral have great chemistry, and excellent speaking voices well suited for podcasting. Rob and Olivia are backed but a revolving cast of standout performers (the wonderfully named Alchemical Actors), who portray a vast array of historical and culturally significant figures. I’m currently working my way through the sizable back catalogue of episodes (during my 650 mile a week trucking route), and have been amazed at the wide range of subjects covered. Occult Confessions is highly recommended!
Very informative and funny. Feels like a conversation with friends.

Favorite Podcast !
A++ 🖤🖤🖤 11/10, 8 thumbs up and all the praise. Very happy I stumbled across this podcast. I have always been a fan of occult subjects but have always found content around it to be either too dismissive or to serious and I find that the alchemical actors have been able to hit the sweet spot. Thank you for helping the universal collective get through our daily grinds.
A+, Love it. Well researched and entertaining. 🖤💜🖤
Excellent scholarship and a lot of fun!
Rob C Thompson does an excellent job researching and explaining a wide spectrum of occult related topics
Great show with lots of humor and history combined! It's not an easy balancing act but OC does it superbly!
Started listening to the episode on Charlie Manson (which features truly stellar voice work) and was completely hooked. The show treats its source material with respect, without taking it too seriously. It would be difficult to pick favorites, but the episode on Joan of Arc remains a stand-out for me. The show's series on conspiracy theories performs the useful work of demonstrating the lineage of the ideas discussed, from the early Christian era to the present day. The show addresses a wide range of topics, and someone with an interest in the occult, the paranormal, or the downright weird will find hours of delightful, thought-provoking discussion, as well as some incredibly voice acting. I cannot wait for the next episode!
This is simply the best podcast specializing in providing content about the true history of occultists and the occult. Dr. Rob Thompson provides a fun, relatable, and incredibly well-researched discussion of the history of a wide range of occult topics, and the rest of the incredibly talented Alchemical Actors offer extemporized conversation and reaction to material provided, as well as high quality reenactments, dramatizations, and parodies of actual historical events and events purported to have occurred in actual occult texts. The Alchemical Actors have done a phenomenal job of not only distilling often complex history and philosophy into an easily understandable and entertaining format, but they've also managed to cultivate a friendly and loyal community of followers that have a shared interest in the arcane, esoteric, and occult. If you have an interest in the darker, enchanting, or hidden parts of history, this is a podcast that you simply must listen to, and there's already a welcoming community of like-minded listeners ready for you to join.
Love the podcast. They do a very good job of explaining and giving an educated and well spoken view on occult history.
Tendentious, holier-than-thou presentation and for what? They don't even do basic research. In the podcast on tantra they pronounced Shakti as Sakti, among a plethora of other errors. That wouldn't be a problem if they had a bit of humility but alas they act knowledgeable although they don't say anything that can't be read from the Wikipedia page of the topic. You're better off asking Alexa to read it, at least she pronounces the terms correctly.
Amazing podcast! Perfect mix of history and humour! Definitely one of my favourites
I highly appreciate this podcast's balance of academic scholarship and open-mindedness, as well as seriousness and humor. The Alchemical Actors are all quite funny and intelligent, and they each have passion for specific subjects within the occult, giving them all unique personalities. Rob is an excellent and knowledgeable host, and his laugh is infectious! This has been my first podcast, and it has encouraged me to try more in the future. Looking forward to more content!
A witty, thorough dive into not only the factual history of the modern occult, but also the ancient, fictional and related histories as well. Well produced with a good balance of quality scholarship and humor that approaches occult topics sympathetically, but also skeptically.Keep it up!
My favorite podcast by far, if you like the occult, trust me and give it a listen. You'll quickly become addicted. It's something about the good research and presentation, with a healthy helping of theatre group chatter and commentary that's so refreshing, you won't want to run out of episodes. But you'd be in luck, because they work really really hard to curate extra content on Patreon for donors starting at just $1/month. So check em out, learn and laugh with this quirky crew and just have a good time! A++ love it 🖤🖤
