Oh boy! Was looking for a Quantum Leap podcast and I found this show which was disappointing. I also have critical views of Quantum Leap but some of the ones thrown at it here are just nonsensical and demand things that were impossible for a show from the 1980s and still impossible to do in the current age of television. The podcast lost me when they decided to omit to cover one of the most well-regarded episodes because it touches upon a sensitive issue and is considered a sad episode, like do these hosts know that happens a lot in Quantum Leap? I found it very hypocritical of the hosts to skip doing an episode because of these values and not skip over any others that hit the same criteria, stick to your guns and skip all sensitive episodes of QL, or actually come in with views on them. I could almost forgive the omission if the hosts had actually revisited the episode and decided it was too much to talk about on the air but they admit to not doing that and relying on memory or outright saying they haven't watched it and read about it! That undermines the whole point of revisiting an old show with modern values, doesn't it? They pay lip service to if episodes that cover issues related to marginalised groups are offensive and talk about how Quantum Leap should have strived to cast better representation, yet at no point on this podcast did they ever bring in a guest from one of these groups and get their own personal opinion on the matter. Looks like the show has stopped for now and that may be for the best.
