After 10 years of investigations, you might think that Ross and Carrie are out of ideas. Thankfully, you would be wrong! For my money, Oh No! Ross and Carrie is one of those perfect background podcasts, a good companion for cleaning dishes, going for walks, or long drives. They've been doing the important work of making healthy skepticism accessible for a decade and I will always appreciate how much compassion they bring to the absurd - and often exploitative - ventures they cover. If we ever get proof of ghosts, psychic abilities, or aliens, I don't think any skeptics would be as stoked as Ross or Carrie!
One of my favourite podcasts! Ross and Carrie are two amazing and intelligent people who go above and beyond for their show. The amount of attention and detail they put into each of their investigations is incredible. They often walk a fine line between remaining critical yet open minded. Many a times they have handled a subject— which would have irritated me to no end— with patience and compassion, which has inspired me to improve my own attitude. Sure, they have their snarky moments, but overall they're probably the most reasonable bunch of skeptics you'll come across. Learning about different forms of spirituality has never been this fun (and poking fun at bad science never this funny!)
As a spiritual seeker who went on her own journey of disillusionment as a brief member of the Mormon religion (happily excommunicated), Mediums, Channelers, New Age Spirituality, Non-Duality and Advaita, this podcast makes me smile. I'm still a seeker but joyfully see through the b.s. along the way. Glad that I happened upon this podcast because they are genuinely curious and tackle and explore some the spiritual b.s. big hitters.
Interesting premise. The recent listener stories episode ended up being the second I listened to. People said they treated subjects very nonjudgmentally, which was proceeded by the two of them dunking on people who are into astrology in the next episode. Will keep giving it a shot though.
I love the attention to detail in their explanations of events and how they strive to recount those events exactly as they happened. Great show!
This is my absolute favourite podcast. I have listened to every episode and am always excited when a new one launches. Ross and Carrie explore a huge range of bizarre groups, conferences and religions and always relate their stories with humour and kind-heartedness, but are not afraid to tackle serious issues and reveal the darker undercurrents in certain groups. I've learned so much from this show and it never fails to entertain.
Two intelligent critical thinkers giving various religions, cults and claims a go to see what sticks (and most of the time, nothing does). Overall it's a great podcast. It's getting slightly more stale with the multi-part episodes (the UFO ones recently) but it's still definitely in my top 5 podcasts even with its shortcomings. One of the worst parts is finding out that there's even more B.S. in the world than you already know about, and that there's so many people out there who believe it all.
