The Oklahoma City Zoo recently vaccinated 40 animals against COVID-19 using a vaccine made for animals. The first of two doses of the vaccine, authorized for experimental use by the United States Department of Agriculture this summer, was administered to the zoo's animals at highest risk for contracting the virus, including the zoo's large and small cats, gorillas, orangutans, chimpanzees, river otters and ferrets.
