Hello and welcome to episode five of Once Upon a Nightmare. In this episode I go full on true crime with 'True Crime Tuesday' as I discuss the story of the girl who survived, Mary Vincent. Mary Vincent was just 15 years old when she met Lawrence Singleton, a man who would try and destroy her, Mary was not going down without a fight. This is a story about a girl who lived!Singleton only got a 14 year sentence for the attempted murder of Mary, he got out after only 8 years. As a result, a bill was passed in California, the 'singleton bill' . This would prevent early release of criminals who committed acts of torture in their crimes, this allowed for a sentence of 25 years to life. Unfortunately this was too late for mother of three Roxanne Hayes, Singleton would go on to murder Roxanne when he was released from prison.
