In this special episode of the podcast I’m sharing an interview I did with Forest Collins, founder of 52 Martinis and the podcast Paris Cocktail Talk. We spoke about how the Covid 19 crisis is affecting rural France and it’s workers, wine makers, farmers, and other artisans.

FOREST COLLINS is a Paris-based Cocktail Expert and the founder of the online guide to Paris cocktail bars and other small batch spirits news 52 Martinis. She is also the host of the podcast Paris Cocktail Talk. While she may be an expert in drinks, she is also a passionate foodie and, having lived in France for over sixteen years, knows her way around a French cheese board.

Thanks so much to Forest for talking with me and giving me a platform to share my experience and observations of how this pandemic is hitting rural France.

Here are some links to the great resources and people we mentioned during our talk:

Paul and Anouk (who I am working for right now) are natural wine makers in Thésée and they make beautiful natural wines under the name Les Jardins de Theseiis.

Stacey Pedersen Keating is the Home Ec 101 queen and shares her knowledge on her blog The Modern Domestique. She shared her recipe for sprouted lentils on Paris Paysanne 7 years ago (!).

The Quaran(tiny) Guide to … series will be published in collaboration with my friend and founder of Comestible Journal, Anna Brones. You can keep up to date with that project and how to get your hands on our pantry empowerment guides by following Paris Paysanne and Comestible Journal on Instagram.

Thanks most of all to you for listening! I’m not sure when I’ll be back with more podcast episodes, but it is always a joy to share news from France with you and I’m grateful to Forest for making this episode possible!

Stay healthy and safe and I hope to have more stories for you very soon!
