Our guest today is Kevin Young. He joined The Economist in April 2019 as Head of Social Media, leading a team of ten people and more than doubling social referrals in six months.
He now spearheads the newsroom's digital growth in a new role as Head of Audience. He devises editorial strategies for social output, newsletters, push alerts, and SEO, as well as developing the organization's presence on new platforms and exploring other digital opportunities.
Kevin's team was nominated at The Drum Online Media Awards 2020 for Social Media Team of the Year, an award that he received in 2018 in his previous role at Bloomberg. Prior to this, Kevin spent 15 years at the BBC as a digital journalist and broadcaster.
