If you're like me, the thing that you love about KISS first and foremost is their vast catalog of great songs. And if that's the case, then Pod Of Thunder is the perfect KISS podcast for you. The entire KISS song catalog is put under the microscope (and mostly to HIGH-larious effect) on Pod Of Thunder. While I don't always agree with their hells (c'mon guys, "Always Near You/Nowhere To Hide" isn't THAT bad) or their hallelujahs ("Murder In High Heels"???), I enjoy listening to their opinions regardless. A must listen for deep catalog KISS fans.
They really need to rename this "3 guys who sniff Chris Jericho's jock". It would be hilarious if it wasn't so pathetic. Chris Lathrop might be the biggest moron I've ever had to listen to. He looks like a fetal alcohol baby, talks like he had a stroke, and has the biggest neckbeard opinions one can have. Not to mention this idiot got Covid while promoting conspiracy theories about it. I can't really say too much about the other 2. They were wedgied, shoved into lockers, had books knocked out of their hands, and generally bullied growing up in every way. In their case, they deserved it.
First listen was the Stryper song breakdown. May try a few more episodes before I toss this podcast in the garbage. Completely uninformed about a band they’re reviewing and have to listen to them looking stuff up as they go. Cute. Will have to see if Uncle Roman (Chris?) is any less a know-it-all, disrespectful douche-nozzle before I decide. Wait, douche-nozzles are actually useful for at least a portion of society. So that comparison isn’t fair to actual douche-nozzles. I get it. Stryper isn’t for everyone. I’ve been getting grief for liking them since 1984. But to call them clowns (repeatedly) who have no redeeming qualities and only got famous because of their shtick… well… coming from a bunch of Kiss nerds is rich, indeed… The answers to all the inane questions you asked each other during this episode could have been answered had any of you listened to more than the song at hand. But, hey… you chased down your confirmation bias like a hungry fluffer on a porn set. So, yeah… not terribly impressed out of the gate. No idea yet why other podcasts recommend you unless they just have very twisted senses of humor. So far, I wouldn’t even rate this podcast anywhere near B-list level…*Edited: I listened to a few Kiss song episodes. Chris’ smarmy condescension isn’t quite so prevalent for songs he likes, especially when fellates original Kiss members on their god-like prowess with, well, anything they do. So there’s that, I guess. But my original assessment basically still stands. Oh, well… on to the next podcast…
Three manchildren pretending they're capable of giving an objective opinion on a band that became a success in spite of itself. Really sad to listen to. Even worse are their minions who think these guys can do no wrong. Most of them are over 35 and behaving like perpetual teenagers.
