Alissa Powell from Latch Lactation is a Mother of 2 and IBCLC, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
Alissa is a mother of two young children who has experienced many and complex challenges myself in her own lactation journey, which adds to her empathy for the real hurdles and emotions parents face.
An Internationally Board Certified (IBCLC) as awarded by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) with a background in practical support as an ABA Counsellor and volunteer (Australian Breastfeeding Association Cert IV Breastfeeding Education [Counselling]. Also a member of the Lactation Consultant Association of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ) and the International Lactation Consultants Association (ILCA).
With previous studies in behavioural neuroscience and education, encompassing childhood development and psychology, combines for a unique perspective in supporting parents with holistic evidence based information - informed by scientific research from the fields of anthropology, psychology, sociology, education and evolutionary biology.
Alissa melds attachment parenting principles with the most current research in dental and airway health, to achieve the best foundations for healthy facial development, gut bacteria microbiome, hormones and mental health. I am a committed lifelong learner and am continually reading and contributing to new research publications.
