Amazing podcast! Brings a great mix of humor and engaging stories. Love the new spin-off story (on the same feed) "Outstanding!"). Great example of rpg actual plays in generael and Masks: A New Generation in specific!
Protean City Comics is a masterclass in how to manage an actual play podcast that doesn't fall victim to the common failings of the genre. A rotating cast of players means that you get frequent shakeups to the character dynamics and variety from the GMs. Short, punchy storylines mean you don't get stuck with story arcs that go on forever. Add superb sound design and editing, and you've got an A+ podcast. Check it out, you won't regret it.
Protean City is where I go to get my superhero fix these days. The teen heroes are all my favorite, the showrunners obviously care SO MUCH about what they're making, and the stories are just so damn fun. You'll find yourself looking for the next issue in your local comics store without realizing it. The show empowers you. Gives you strength. Don't forget to check it out!
The best Actual Play podcast on the internet. No exceptions. The quality of the cast performances, the story telling, the editing. It's all top notch. PCC has RUINED all other APs for me as none measure up.
The Best Audio Comic There Is! So you're browsing for some good media to fill your superhero addiction needs. You've enjoyed the movies that are out, the shows are decent, and you've always loved comics but what if there was something that you could enjoy while doing other things. Well you're in luck because Protean City Comics is here for you, bringing you the fantastic adventures of our young heroes who are stepping (stumbling) into the limelight! What I really enjoy about Protean City is the amount of work that the MC Brandon and all the players bring to the table. The scenes are well developed with a high amount of description so that it feels like you're actually watching this hybrid of a comic / show. The amount of adaptiveness that is displayed in this podcast is where i feel it really shines. There are rarely moments the players and MC need to take before they drag you into the next scene. Blending from fight, to rescue, to just good old high school angst, they bring these stories to you in a way that feels organic and not rushed or shoved at you. Another key feature I love is the level of detail that are placed into the heroes that the players portray. Whether it is Sohcahtoa's numerous spheres and excellent math jokes, Puck's worry of an elder being seeking to consume his existence while he masks it with a carefree attitude, Penance's deep roots in the arcane and the spells and charms she incorporates as though Elsbeth was a witch herself, Frequencies many different gadgets and tinkering he does to boost the party and keep everyone together, and the mysterious and deep backstory of Alina aka Arcana that helps bring in a darker force that they struggle against. These characters and the numerous NPCs that are brought in whether they are villain, hero, or just citizen, feel very alive and the decisions they make are grounded in the sense that this is exactly what they would do in this situation. Excellent roleplaying all around the table! So if you're in the mood for more superhero hijinks, excellent characters and development, and a wonderful and ever changing world that offers you a new and refreshing superhero experience, then look no further because Protean City Comics has you covered. Start listening today and get hooked on this sensation!
Big fan of this one. The flavor is a blast, the cast is a blast, everything about this Actual Play experience is executed wonderfully.
