This 2019 true crime podcast deep dives into the 8 year old cold case of Faith Hedgepeth’s murder and deserves more attention than it gets. Faith was a 19 year old undergrad student in her third year at University of North Carolina when she was found horrifically slain in the apartment she shared with her roommate Karena Rosario. True crime fans might be familiar with this case as other podcasts of the genre have covered it but never have I seen it this in depth. The sensationless miniseries does well in remembering Faith for who she was not just trying to cover what happened to her. For example, I have heard the case a few times but this is the first show that covers and shows respect for her being a part of the indigenous community. Compassionate solo host Tom Gasparoli leads you through 10 episodes all about 27 minutes long with no commercials. The last episode came out in August of 2020 so it is ready for you to binge, and share. I truly feel like this is a solvable case with enough exposure. Itunes has a 4.9 average star rating and only 10 written reviews so please go review the show if you liked it. Script is well researched with testimonials from another indigenous student committed to solving Faith’s case and a few experts including former detectives and former FBI writing analysts. Music is subtle and complementary. Major trigger warnings for sexual assault (although it isn’t talked about graphically), and murder. Please take care while listening. Similar Pods: Where is Joleen?
