Walil Archer with The Real RAPP Radio Show on Downtown Hott Radio interviews Ms. Cherie Shepherd Founder and CEO of the National Black Business Owner’s Association.

Cherie Shepherd is the Founder and CEO of the National Black Business Owner’s Association and a serial entrepreneur who is PASSIONATE about empowering others.

Ms. Shepherd began her career in the administrative and professional services area over 20 years ago. Cherie decided to turn her love for administration into her first business, by establishing Admins 2 Go, Inc., a WOSB and EDWOSB certified professional services, administrative and staffing firm. During this time, she successfully landed contracts which offered opportunities to work with many C-Level executives including: Javier Palomarez, formerly of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Ron Busby, President of the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. and Former Carolina Panther Reggie Howard, Executive Director of the United Athletes Foundation. Through her professional relationship with the United Athletes Foundation, Ms. Shepherd was able to work with its board members which include Superbowl Champion Ray Lewis and the legendary Jim Brown! Key Supplier Diversity relationships were established with executives from Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Johnson and Johnson and several others.

Her experience working for two national, minority-focused Chambers of Commerce, led her to begin research involving statistical data gathering concerning the racial wealth gap. Her research found that African Americans owned less wealth than any other racial group in America.

Determined to make a difference, Ms. Shepherd formed the National Black Business Owner’s Association (NBBOA). NBBOA specializes in assisting its small business members, by providing virtual training, educational opportunities and technical assistance. Members of NBBOA are slated to become successful and profitable business owners. They are strongly encouraged to take a portion of their profits to purchase assets, that will help bridge and eventually, begin to close the wealth gap.

Cherie attended the University of the District of Columbia and is currently taking online courses provided by The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
