Today we feature Nina Teicholz.

Before taking a deep dive into researching nutritional sides for nearly a decade, Nina was a reporter for National Public Radio and also contributed to many publications including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, The New Yorker and The Economist.

She attended Yale and Stanford where she studied biology and majored in American Studies. She has a Majors degree from Oxford University and served as Associate Director of The Centre for Globalisation and Sustainable Development at Columbia University.

Listen in as I ask Nina:* How she came to write about fats.* What the scientific problem is with most of the existing research papers into diet.* How the dietary guidelines got set up.* What fats to avoid and which ones to celebrate.* Is she optimistic for change, and if so, how long is it going to take?

You'll also discover:* Why we shouldn't be scared of all fats!* Where all this bad dietary advice comes from.* What gave rise to the obesity epidemic.* The health benefits of saturated fats.* What happens to vegetable oils when they're heated.* How patients in a clinical trial have reversed their Type 2 Diabetes through the right diet.

Nina has thought long and hard about nutrition, and her passion and knowledge jumps out with quotes like:"Truth is like a kind of justice - people need to know the truth because their lives are being taken away from them by being told lies.""Our goal is to bring our point of view to Washington and to say we need evidence-based guidelines!"

Nina lives in New York City. To find out more visit her Facebook page or check out her website https://ninateicholz.com and check out her amazing book "The Big Fat Surprise".
