The boys first met at school and have been playing together since 1983. They got their first 4-track a few years later and have continued to be bedroom music makers ever since, except for a 10 year recess to attend to family life.Over the years there have been various musicians who have joined the ranks but it remains a two piece outfit for the moment with guest musicians joining the band for selected projects as they are required.Influenced by the likes of The Blue Nile, David Sylvian,Thomas Feiner and similar melancholic artists, the Tempus sound is usually a subdued affair that could never be considered mainstream."We spend a lot of time on production, we always have, its about making the best of what you have at the time, both in ability and equipment and as the years have gone on, both have improved I think. We always felt that one good sounding song was worth 10 poor ones !
