The bloop is the name of a mysterious sound detected by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in 1997 in the Pacific Ocean near South America. In 2012, scientists discovered that the sound emanated from an iceberg cracking and breaking away from an Antarctic glacier. For the 15 years that people didn’t know, the mysteries and conspiracies were all over the place.
