On one hand, you may press the button unnecessarily and become the subject of silent ridicule of the other passengers of the W9 bus to Southgate and feel the heat rising in your cheeks on this already warm Friday afternoon. On the other hand, what if the driver assumes that you didn't want to get off at this stop, continuing on his merry route back towards Chase Farm Hospital, with you sweltering and ashamed in grey jeans and band t-shirt that you stupidly decided to wear despite the 26 degree weather.
