story itself quite interesting, but the podcast had no suspense at all
Concern has grown about the dubious means by which unregistered forex brokers and websites for cryptocurrency trading steal money from investors. A few weeks ago, when I went to withdraw my funds from the site, I was charged almost $75,000 by a well-known forex broker. The good news is that a few days later I came across multiple articles on retrieving digital and crypto assets in which Dave, the best recovery specialist, was repeatedly mentioned, so I contacted him. Within three days following my initial communication, he withdrew the entirety of my funds, leaving nothing behind. If your bitcoin disappears, there are incomplete crypto transactions, catfish scams, advance fee scams, etc., he is certainly the best and most trustworthy recovery professional to contact. Contact him at hackerrone90 at gmail com if you need extraordinary assistance.
Spoilery review! The story is fascinating but the podcast leaves much to be desired. I'm sorry to say I don't think very highly of the investigative reporter's skills. Spoilers below: There are many elements completely glossed over and left totally unexplored, such as the fact that she met her husband first as the 17 year old babysitter and what might have precipitated his sudden departure from his wife and home, or what exactly she may have been doing with her time while she was pretending to be getting treatment, or what she did with the money. I also think the podcast and listeners would have benefitted greatly from having some guests on to discuss, such as an oncologist who could speak to just how ridiculous her claims were, and a psychologist who could speak to the damage caused by that kind of long term deception. They didn't even attempt an educated guess as to the cash and other donations that weren't part of the wire fraud case. And it sounds like stepdaughter Jessa was being possibly abused, and possibly even that the custody case was to get her as a full time caretaker for Amanda's children, but that wasn't even broached as a topic. They never even ask what Amanda was actually doing in all of that time, or where the money actually went. If she was in what looked like a large church, SURELY there were some medical professionals there who could tell her constant remissions from stage 4 cancer were total nonsense. I find it difficult to believe that there were no skeptics there, and if the reporter couldn't find any, then see my above statement about this reporter's investigative skills. The storytelling is sloppy, and the timeline is incredibly muddied. And the very premise of the reporter being sent a tip by a whistleblower is never addressed clearly -- I assumed for a bit that it was Aletta, but then they said it wasn't her, but never brought up the identity of the whistleblower again. Even a comment at the end saying that the original whistleblower never revealed themself or something would have been helpful. I saw someone say that the podcast fundamentally doesn't understand its listeners -- no one is hooked and listening to find out the legal outcome, anybody can google that she was sentenced -- we want to know how and why she did it! Ultimately interesting but unsatisfying, and the reporting is anything from mildly incompetent to irresponsible. I think in the hands of better producers it could have been very good, but as it is the best parts of it are the actual story itself and the voice actress who read Amanda's posts.
The criminal actions of Amanda are not ordinary, but the remarkable aspect is her downfall and legal implications of her actions. However, I thought this podcast producers didn’t take the extra length of contacting individuals instead of the host saying Amanda did this and her husband did that. It was monotonous at times because in many settings, the host repeated herself multiple times. It would have been better if a) shortened the episode numbers with the same format of host only OR 2) Interviewing more individuals especially from Amanda’s side with the same number of episodes or more.
A story which is alas becoming very familiar in this day and age, but still very well told, with some good interviews with people who knew Amanda.
I really appreciated the deep-dive into this case. This podcast had many pieces of information that the documentary on this case didn't include that I was curious to know about. However, had I not seen the documentary first, I think I would have been confused that I misunderstood the meaning of the podcast title because the cancer being fake was not explicitly said until multiple episodes in. Other than that, I have no notes. Beautifully-produced podcast and they clearly did their research prior to releasing.
I am a victim of a scam that targeted me on LinkedIn. The con-artists posed as legitimate crypto traders and convinced me to connect my wallet to a malicious website and all my coins were drained from my wallet. I reached out to CipherTraces to help with the blockchain forensic investigations and tracing of the funds. CipherTraces was able to recover back all the funds taken from my wallet. I am sharing this info to let other victims know what to do. Their info is CipherTraces.com. or help@ciphertraces.com
If you like listening to endless loops of fake typing over narration, this is the podcast for you!
blown away by this one
I really liked it and the story was wow, but the reporting felt like it dropped the ball a little. Could have had more interviews rather than just narration.
Can those who have fallen victim to fraud get their money back? Yes, you might be able to get back what was taken from you if you fell prey to a fraud from an unregulated investing platform or any other scam, but only if you report it to the relevant authorities. With the right plan and supporting documentation, you can get back what you’ve lost. Most likely, the individuals in control of these unregulated platforms would attempt to convince you that what happened to your money was a sad accident when, in fact, it was a highly skilled heist. You should be aware that there are resources out there to help you if you or someone you know has experienced one of these circumstances. Do a search using (zattrecoverypro1 AT Gmail com). Do not let the perpetrators of this hoaxes get away with ruining you mentally and financially.
I enjoyed the flow of the podcast and the narrations. I feel so bad for the kids involved and the kind people who were taken advantage of. Shows sometimes you really just don't know people. crazy.
Be careful of crypto platforms promising huge returns. They are luring people into fake programs. There is no shame in speaking out, most of us have been there too. We just have to be more careful. I was scammed of 30,450 USD in the middle of last year. I realized it was all scam after i made the third payment. A person from Bitcoin Abuse Forum recommended ZATTECH recovery and he was very helpful especially in recovering my lost funds, you can contact him via email on zattechrecovery ⓐ Gmail com. He could help you track them and hopefully recover your lost funds
I liked this podcast, the story was well told and easy to follow. This podcast showed how truly corrupt this world can be and how easy it is to win people over with manipulation
