Popular Reviews of Science Diction

Sadly, Science Diction has just come to an end. While it lasted it was an interesting look at words and the science behind them. Host Johanna Mayer is an enthusiastic and intrepid reporter and she speaks to a range of knowledgeable contributors across episodes about ketchup, robots, colour, hurricanes and memes. Ideal listening for those who enjoy learning more about the words we say but take for granted. It's just a shame it has ended before it could focus on even more interesting subjects.

A great podcast in the intersection of language, history and society.

Interesting topics but the narrator's voice is grating to me; not the fry necessarily, but the valley girl sing song-ness...and I'm saying this as a woman. Some voices just aren't great for audio media, unfortunately. And when we are to seek out the podcast, and choose to tune in vs tuning to other shows, voice will affect downloads :/ And I know, I know, I have heard shows saying that judging fry and valley girl accents is effectively judging young women as having little importance, but as a woman who listens to A LOT of women lead media, I rarely discount voices, and this is that rare instant.
