Our PRIDE MONTH celebration continues with a look at the truly unusual, blood-streaked 1981 psychological thriller BUTCHER, BAKER, NIGHTMARE MAKER aka NIGHT WARNING.
Billy, an orphaned teenager, finds himself being dominated by his increasingly unhinged Aunt Sheryl who's hell-bent on keeping him with her...at all costs.
Despite its deceptively simple plot, BBNM is a remarkably layered film featuring a bravura performance from SUSAN TYRELL and enough twisted Greek Tragedy elements to make Oedipus blush.
Given the time the movie was made, most surprising of all is its positive portrayal of gay men standing strong in the face of vicious homophobia, making it a perfect choice to round off PRIDE MONTH.
