Heartwarming and very engaging!!
An intimate portrait of discovery, loneliness, and frontier ingenuity.
A story about discovery, loneliness, and connection. The main characters have an enjoyable dynamic as their relationship develops over Space Work Zoom from begrudging coworkers to friends to lovers. The story explores connection over distance, and the joy and helplessness that can inspire, which is relatable in Covid Times. I love how the bedtime story one of the main characters tells at the end of episodes relates to the main characters' relationship development.
This is a podcast driven by sound and sentiment. Also... Discovery. It's an amazing utilization of the medium, a dance of sorts through the stars. I love this show. I love its style and characters. I'm always so excited for new episodes.
Second Star is an audio drama that uses its medium to perfection. It's a story of loneliness, of voices over the radio being all you have. It's also a puzzle box, as motivations that are initially murky become clear, and old found footage reveals. It's a riveting sci fi tale (love a tidally locked planet!) and incorporates unexpected (but beautiful) fairy tales excerpts. I don't want to spoil too much, but this is a gorgeous tale that will break your heart in the best way.
What a fantastic story! I loved this a lot!!!
Absolutely in love with this podcast. Though the cast is on the small side, Ishani and Jorin have great chemistry and dramatic timing, and Jorin especially kills it playing Bell as the Straight Man to Gwen's more comedic characterization. I love the lush descriptions of the planet's surface, and the atmospheric sound design is extremely well balanced with the dialogue. It comes across just as clear in the car as it does through headphones, which is something IMMENSELY rare for me with my hearing trouble. Can't wait to hear the rest of the season, great work to all!!
Truly a beautiful story and podcast - incredibly written, acted, and built out. A greedy part of me wants so much more content from this world, but this short(-ish, in terms of episode count) and sweet story of connection, community even though isolation, and love in all it's forms is just a perfectly encapsulated gift from the creators, cast, and everyone who brought it to life.
