Episode 87: Graduation Toss those graduation caps high in the air:  school’s out and it’s summer time!  And we’ve got a whole episode dedicated to graduations, life after high school, and plastic surgery sound effects. First up, we’ve got some decoration ideas for your graduation caps: Then, we’ll highlight some of the best celebrity graduation speakers from the past year.  Spoiler alert: there’s a “Snooki Bill” in existence in New Jersey. Patrick even gets a chance to address the class of 2018 and offers his nuggets of wisdom for those heading off to college. Episode 86: Buying a House We’re trying to purchase a new home, and it’s not as easy as it looks! Episode 86 moves into real estate territory Kate and Patrick discuss the ups and down of buying a house. See, here’s the thing about buying a home:  it’s actually more difficult to clean out your current residence!  Not to mention the tiny things you find in the process, like mice watching porn on Netflix and the discovery that Snow White may be the best Disney lover. We make a list of our new home must-haves and pour over celebrity house amenities.  Buzzfeed provides us with silly entertainment as we read through their list of 24 Real Estate Ads That Totally Nailed It.  Lastly, we launch into a game of Home Buyers: Would You Rather? We also give our two cents on Solo: A Star Wars Story, announce a trivia giveaway, take a look at our new merch shirts, discuss the royal wedding, and giggle over the new Bad Lip Reading. [embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKV6h_5XFbk[/embedyt] Oh, and Patrick still can’t pronounce “Alden Ehrenreich.” SUBSCRIBE to See Here’s the Thing at:  iTunes, Spreaker, Stitcher, Google Play, & TuneIn Connect with us! Episode 85: Thank You Notes It’s our most grateful episode ever! Thank you, listener, for tuning into this episode on thank you notes. We’re behind the curve on the speed of our wedding gift replies, according to Hallmark, but we’ve got several examples of terrible thank you notes that should never have been sent. See, here’s the thing about thank you notes:  are they a dying art form? The show almost dips into true crime land with an intense discussion of Netflix’s latest documentary, “Evil Genius.” We explain the difference between a Star Wars boat vs. landspeeder, and also debate about holding a fantasy box office draft. Plus, we’ll read some thank you notes from celebrities and share a heartfelt story about the kindness of Starbucks baristas and the power of gratitude. Episode 84: Tearjerkers It’s been two weeks since our viewing of “Avengers: Infinity War,” so it’s finally time to start the grieving process.  We provide spoiler-free commentary on the film’s impact, standout performances, box office reception, and how it establishes itself in the pantheon of movie tearjerkers. See, here’s the thing about tearjerkers:  are films more emotional when you can directly relate to them? Or are they more emotional when you develop a connection to characters you’ve never met? We also mourn the death of The Water Cooter and talk about Patrick’s recent trip to Google.  We’ll list our other favorite tearjerkers and turn sad movies into happy films.  Did you know you can make any movie cheerful by putting that kid from Toy Story into it? Neither did we! SUBSCRIBE to See Here’s the Thing at:  iTunes, Spreaker, Stitcher, Google Play, & TuneIn Connect with us! Facebook| Twitter| Email| Blazing Caribou Studios Hosted by: Kate & Patrick
Episode 83: Bad Movies Welcome to the official reboot of See, Here’s the Thing! We’ve got a brand new format, a brand new logo, and brand new underpants! We’ve retooled the show a bit and have a slicker, quicker episode in store for you! It’s May, it’s May, the lusty month of May! And that can only mean one thing: it’s school testing time. We discover new ways to make testing fun again with language arts questions about Mark Zuckerberg and Fort Night. But the real topic in Episode 83 is bad movies. See, here’s the thing about bad movies: they can become your favorite movies after multiple viewings! Haunted Mansion, Moulin Rouge, Student Bodies…these are just a few of the flicks which have grown like moss on our hearts. And if you’ve ever wondered what it would be like if horror films took over Disney World, we’ve got you covered. It’s Jeopardy overload in Episode 82 as Kate and Patrick play catch-up on their Question of the Day calendar. They also talk about recent movies in theatres, including “A Wrinkle in Time” and “Tomb Raider.” Our duo is shocked to discover how much they liked “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” but not as shocked as Kate was to discover what arose from under Patrick’s seat. It gets rather heated when talking about the behavior of children at Disney World, and Kate finds a fun, explicit new phrase to use on her next trip. This week, take a look back into Episode 34! During this episode, originally published January 9th, 2017, movie sequels, prequels, and threequels are the talk of the town with special guest Alex Sergeant, film fanatic and Freudian specialist. We’re diving deep into the id, ego and superego to discuss Sigmund Freud stand-up material, gourmet food on iPads, and the tantalizing use of “Hufflepuff” in a sentence. But the main topic today is sequels: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Hear what the trio had to say on Iron Man 3, The Empire Strikes Back, The Godfather Part 2, Batman Returns, and more of your favorite #2’s.   SUBSCRIBE to See Here’s the Thing at:  iTunes, Spreaker, Stitcher, Podomatic, Google Play, TuneIn Connect with us! This week, we’re bringing you back to an episode chock full of Patrick’s stellar celebrity impersonations.  Episode 80 trips back through time to Episode 41, which featured coverage of the 2017 Academy Awards. Patrick attempts to earn himself an Oscar nomination with all of his wonderful celebrity impressions (including Steve Harvey, Muhammad Ali, Harrison Ford, Casey Affleck, Bill Cosby, Patrick Stewart, Daniel Craig, Daniel Radcliffe, & Tom Hanks). Plus, we talked about the newly announced Han Solo spinoff cast and the new actor playing Chewbacca. How did a CGI British bear nab a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes? In Episode 79, we’ll explore the film “Paddington” with Blazing Caribou Studios founder, Kari McGinnis! “Paddington” currently holds a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, a 7.2 on IMDB, and a 77% on Metacritic.  How did a children’s movie become the cinematic darling of 2014?  Why did Hugh Grant sign on for its sequel?  How many Harry Potter actors can they squeeze in one film? Kari talks about her fondness for the book series and comes up with alternative plot lines for Paddington at Large, Paddington at the Rainbow’s End, and Love from Paddington. Patrick tries to work in marmalade in each synopsis. Plus, Kari chats about the state of the network, her new show Feast on History, and married life! All good things must come to an end, and so must our month-long coverage of The Godfather Trilogy.  But, we transition from the mean streets of New York to the bedroom and Wakanda! We’re reviewing “Fifty Shades Freed” and “Black Panther” in Episode 78! First, we’ll pay tribute to our month of Godfather with a fun game that pits Patrick against special guest Emily Cassano.  The pair are asked to identify famous lines from the trilogy, and, of course, they create lines of their own. We tear apart EL James’ third novel-turned-movie and praise Marvel’s latest cinematic offering, “Black Panther.” SUBSCRIBE to See Here’s the Thing at: iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play Connect with us! Head back to New York City with us as we review The Godfather: Part 3 in our latest installment of the Godfather Olympics!  See a young, brash Andy Garcia, an aging Al Pacino, and the monotone performance of Sofia Coppola in the finale of the Corleone trilogy. Our dramatic reading of the day finds us walking with the dead, Valentine’s Day Jeopardy questions stump Kate, and Patrick’s dog definitely did something foul under the dining room table.  There’s an affront to Gene Wilder, Paddington sparks our interest, and an odd connection is made between Jar Jar Binks and The Godfather. Let’s head back to Little Italy and dive right into our second installment of the Godfather Olympics!  Episode 76 highlights the dual narrative of The Godfather: Part 2 with stand-out performances from Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro. We’ll crown another winner for: Worst Teeth Best Dressed Best Death Best Name Best Scene Stealer And more! Kate also relates a unique experience with an ear, nose and throat doctor, while Patrick tries to figure out who exactly Tom Holland is.  The Jeopardy questions loop through butt conjunctions, a yeti learns his friends are dead, and we crown a winner in the Kirk vs. Picard poll. It’s time to go to the mattresses! It’s not personal, it’s business, so you’d better leave the gun, take the cannoli, AND our offer you can’t refuse to join us in the Godfather Olympics! We’re lighting the ceremonial cigarette and declaring these games open in our first installment in February! We’ll learn about all of the events in these Olympics and meet our contenders, voting on who should win: Worst Costume Best Wine Drinker Worst Teeth Best Sonny Corleone Tantrum Best Line And more events! PLUS: We finally watch “Best in Show” and “Drop Dead Gorgeous,” stoke a debate between “Will & Grace” and “Frasier,” discover Kate’s secret Asian heritage, and piss off a lot of blow up dolls! There’s drama brewing in Episode 74! Fueled by recent revelations on our Facebook fan page, Patrick is stoking the fires of controversy with fellow podcaster Paul Csomo!  Plus, Patrick attempts his best Cosby impersonation and Kate reads an obituary for a chicken! A lot of listener feedback propels the episode.  Paul Walls makes a case for New Mutants, we discuss which TV sitcoms should be revived, and the debate about Arrival continues. Paul Csomo gets our first ever Weekly Recognition Award for “Holding Incorrect Views on Arrival,” and a challenge is issued. It 2 may not be cast yet, but that doesn’t mean we can’t speculate!  Julia and Hannah over at Film Roast inspired us to pick our favorite actors for the upcoming horror flick.  Check out our ideal casting for the sequel! The hills are alive with the sound of Oscar! Join us for an update on the 2018 Oscar race, as well as a trip down memory lane of the nominated movies of our youth. First, we’ll update you on a few polls featured on the Water Cooler on Facebook.  It turns out people want to see Patrick wobble more and barely anyone enjoys cough syrup. We’ll return to another installment of “All My Friends Are Dead” and answer a jew more Jeopardy calendar questions about mortgages. Our main topic takes us to the most hyped movies of 2018, including Avengers: Infinity War, Deadpool 2, and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.  Which films are you eager to see? Which will you pass by? Listen to the episode and let us know! Also, there’s this guy who drunkenly claims his wife is a black widow spider.  How’s your week going? Spit out your phlegm wads and locate your snatches! We’ve got a new episode full of slang terms, snippets of songs, and J-Lo! We’re recovering from a nasty flu, but that doesn’t mean our minds are out of the gutter.  We swan dive straight into our favorite anatomy slang and wind up with a great Word of the Day. If you haven’t heard of Postmodern Jukebox, you’re missing out! We’re heading off to see them in a few weeks, so here are a few of our favorite clips from the band: Plus, we’ll discuss Solo: A Star Wars Story‘s forthcoming trailer and reshoots, Mark Wahlberg’s $1.5 reshoot paycheck, and a guy who really, really, really wanted a bottle of wine. You know what I miss? Cavity-inducing, diabetes-priming 90’s candy.  Episode 71 is full of sugary goodness with candy nostalgia, celebrity deaths, and intense discussions on new cars. I’m not sure how we got on the topic of grade school candy, but we toss out our favorite brands, from Warheads to Lemonheads (don’t Google that) to Cow Tales to Big League Chew. Then, it’s on to a discussion of Mini Coopers, SUVs, CRVs and other automobile acronyms.  But don’t worry: death isn’t too far down the line with our Celebrity Death List update! Plus, we’ll briefly chat about Darkest Hour, the Fake News Awards, Miss America age requirements and more! SUBSCRIBE to See Here’s the Thing at: iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play Connect with us! Okay, kids:  the honeymoon’s over.  No.  Literally. Wedding bells have been ringing, to be honest.  We’ve been busy getting married, life got hectic, and long story short: we took a three month hiatus.  But fear not! We’re back, and with a vengeance…against blizzards We’ll chat a bit about wedded bliss, our honeymoon in Grenada, and the Snowpocalypse of 2017.  First things first: check out one of my favorite wedding pics: Second, our honeymoon was RIDICULOUS.  A brief overview of paradise, if you will: I mean, RIDICULOUS. When can we go back?!? We also get into our brief review of The Last Jedi, which ends up staying as safe from spoilers as you know we can be. Plus, we touch on a bunch of new movie trailers, which Patrick brilliantly explains (as best as you know he can do). And…FISH SEX! We pay tribute to the sexual revolution’s front man, Hugh Hefner, in the oh-so-aptly-but-coincidentally-titled Episode 69. Patrick also finally got to watch “Saw” for the first time, and we share our thoughts on how the horror film has stood the test of time. Sisters! I smell a remake! Looks like Disney’s “Hocus Pocus” is getting a television reboot without the original cast.  Are you upset Bette won’t be hitching a ride on a broomstick? Patrick’s currently obsessed with Ken Burns’ “Vietnam,” so take a look at the trailer for the new documentary. We’ll dive into the world of “Black Mirror” and share our thoughts on the captivating series sweeping Netflix. And, last but not least, we’ll share our experiences with the waiting line for “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” ticket sales. Episode 66 starts off as a Penn State Football tribute, but quickly highlights special guest Hammond Chamberlain: podcaster extraordinaire! It turns out that Hammond is actually the most interesting man in the world, becoming the first person to play the harmonica live on the show.  He mentions an instrument called the “chapman stick,” and here’s a short video of it in action. We’re debating whether or not another Joker movie needs to be made, especially with Leonardo Di Caprio taking on the reins as one of Gotham’s most infamous villains.  But, the question surfaces:  does an origin story NEED to be made? Colin Trevorrow’s out as the director of Episode IX, but could Wrinkle in Time director Ava Duvernay helm the project?  Here’s a quick look into her latest project with Disney: Murder on the Orient Express kicked off its main publicity campaign by leaving us clues, a new poster, and an interactive website, cluesareeverywhere.com Will Lord of the Flies be remade with all girls?  Or just Jeff Goldblum clones? I’d pay to see that movie.  The Simpsons made a clever parody a few years ago: We’re going to see It this weekend.  Here’s a reminder to wear diapers: Plus, Hammond introduces us to a new Jennifer Lawrence film, Mother. Plus, Oprah‘s making healthy food, Levar Burton’s getting sued, and Disney’s making their own Netflix!
