I love listening to the format of this podcast! It is incredibly easy to follow and super entertaining. I’ve never played the Urban Shadows game, but it’s easy to follow along with the characters and the story is absolutely amazing!
Great show, really well put together. It has me super excited to try my hand at MCing an Urban Shadows game. I really enjoy the gritting world they have built and interesting varied characters.
I know next to nothing about Urban Shadows, but I'm really enjoying Shadows of Saint Fleur even without any background in this particular TTRPG! I love the characters and the focus on really describing them, what they do, and the settings they are in. This podcast paints some really great word pictures, and keeps me interested in seeing more of Saint Fleur and the people within it. I'm just getting started, but I'm glad I added this into my podcast queue!
Only finished episode 1, but will be back for more. Its so much of those good good Dresden Files vibes, but every character could be the star. Seriously, no duds, I want to know about them all. Also, the DM/GM/whatever its called in this system goes through safety tools at end of episode 1--huge brownie points for that!
Not your traditional RPG podcast, this show is an interesting look into what goes on behind the scenes in games. It goes into the motivations, relationships, and difficulties characters have to face. I love the style of following the camera. It makes the podcast feel like you'd be watching a movie, with the requisite twists and turns. No one moment feels unimportant. Jeremiah, Alix, Victor, Aleister, and Silk are well fleshed out characters with their own strong personalities. The player's know that they don't need to be friends to get the job done, which leads to fun moments when they are forced to interact. The MC also does a great job in keeping the story flowing well, despite rarely having the party all together. Scene changes are handled smoothly, and the editing and sound work is extremely well done. If you're looking for a game that plays the politics of gaming masterfully, give Shadows of St. Fleur a listen!
Shadows of Saint FleurThank you so much! We’re so glad you’re enjoying it. And I love the idea that our story looks behind the scenes of at what’s going on - feels like a very accurate description of our story!
The MC and cast have created a dark, intriguing city to play in. There's family drama, romantic drama, elevator drama. Jump into the magic and mystery of Saint Fleur! You won't regret it <3
Shadows of Saint FleurThank you so much Jillian! Elevator drama is very important to our brand.
Shadows of St Fleur brings you into a city brimming with magic and mystery, that is alive due to the fantastic cast and GM. I look forward to every episode and really want to play Urban Shadows now
Shadows of Saint FleurWe're so happy that you're enjoying it and want to play the game!
This show is easily one of my favorite Actual Plays. The world is immediately alive from the jump with complicated characters and a tangled web of politics, debts, and violence. The cast breathes life into their characters, the little editing touches of sound effects just kick it up a level. This one is delightful, folks. If you haven't played Urban Shadows, you're gonna want to after this.
Shadows of Saint FleurThank you so much! We feel similar about GMM. :)
Never played Urban Shadows before, but doesn't matter. The city and characters are brought to life with amazing storytelling. Always look forward to listening to more.
Shadows of Saint FleurWe're so glad you're enjoying our storytelling first approach.
Some great RPers and compelling characters set in a world of politics and monsters. Each character feels like they interact with the world differently, while all of them still work together as a group. The stakes also feel higher, as each player has their own goals and drives, which don't always align with the group (to call them a party would be a little misleading), and the GM does a great job keeping the story moving and keeping everyone involved.
Shadows of Saint FleurThank you Grahame! We're glad you feel like the story keeps moving.
Listen to this show if you want an awesome podcast with interesting, conflicted characters, a fascinating setting, and great role play. I've listened to a lot of APs, but this one is one of the few that are excellent from the beginning.
Shadows of Saint FleurThank you so much Susannah! We're so happy that you think we are excellent from the beginning - high praise from you. :D
Excellent Urban Fantasy-Modern Supernatural podcast. Solid audio production, interesting story arcs and interesting characters. If you enjoy tv shows like Supernatural, Buffy, The Grimm or Lost Girl, or play RPGS like Urban Shadows or Monster of the Week, you'll dig this show. Well worth a listen.
Shadows of Saint FleurThank you so much Blake! You are definitely one of our biggest fans and our MC may have stole bits of this review to pitch the show. :)
