After a successful career in Mutual Fund Operations as the Assistant Vice President of Corporate Quality, Jodi Flynn set off on a new adventure and founded Luma Coaching. Her specialty is partnering with business leaders who experience self-doubt and overwhelm to overcome stress, get organized, and start creating the business and the lifestyle they dreamed of having.

Her podcast, Women Taking the Lead, inspires women from humble beginnings to overcome self-doubt and lead with confidence, integrity and a sense of humor. The podcast has hit #1 in 3 categories of iTunes New and Noteworthy: Business, Careers, and Society and Culture.

Each week we love getting to hear what our guests say is their definition of success. No two answers are exactly the same, and that is why we love the question so much! Each week our guests remind us that success is different to each and every one of us!

Jodi shares with us what success means to here:

"The work that I am providing is making a difference in the world. I can see it, it is tangible, or people are telling me... and financial security. I don't have to be a millionaire... but knowing I've gotten myself to a place where I don't have to be overly concerned about money."

Jodi shares with us that the definition for what success meant to hear started to really change when she turned 30. Her priorities shifted, success went from being liked and approved of, to her living out her values.

"It's based more on am I living according to my values? Do I feel good about the people I am spending time with? Does the work I'm doing make a difference?"

Milestone birthday's like turning 30 or 40 can often trigger us to re-evaluate what we are letting control our lives.  We love that Jodi was able to share with us how success for her really shifted when she decided she was going to care less about what others thought and instead focus on her values.

A big theme in Jodi's life and her own podcast, Women Taking the Lead, is talking about pivoting.  Jodi shares with us how each career path she was on helped her to pivot into the next thing.  From her psychology degree to her entry level corporate job, to working as an executive in mutual funds to then pivoting into coaching, these jobs all let her utilize the psychology stuff she loved, that social work did not.
