Welcome to Solvable Mysteries Podcast, hosted by Juras Sim and co-hosted by Glenn Highcove.  During this episode we examine and analyze the strange and tragic case of Kenneka Jenkins, who died after celebrating at a party in a hotel room in the Chicago Crowne Plaza O'Hare hotel.  Kenneka was caught on camera wandering the halls in an inebriated and drugged state, and appears to have accidentally wandered into, and then been trapped inside of, a walk-in freezer within a walk-in cooler in an unused kitchen area of the hotel.  We discuss the facts of the case, the way the police initially handled the missing person call by Teresa Martin, Kenneka's mother, and review the actions and policies of the Crowne Plaza hotel.  We discuss in detail the side effects of topiramate, an anti-seizure and anti-migraine medication found in Kenneka Jenkin's system, as well as other results of the autopsy.  Ultimately we discuss whether there was a chance that Kenneka could have been saved in time, and the potential dangers and care a hotel has for its guests given current surveillance technology.  We also weigh in on the current lawsuit Teresa Martin has filed on behalf of her family and Kenneka Jenkins against the Crowne Plaza Hotel chain. This case is an example of the need for friends to look out for each other, and for the tragic things that can happen to anyone when under the influence of a substance in a complicated and dangerous modern environment.
