I first began listening to Song Surfing three weeks ago. I took a chance on it because I was tirelessly looking for original music, and came across John on slaps.com. John's podcast, Song Surfing, has the most interesting and most well-curated playlist every single time an episode is released. I thoroughly enjoy practically every song John plays on the pod, and his provided exposition and format carries the listener through an international tour of irrepressible sounds and intriguing licks. I HIGHLY recommend Song Surfing to everyone, if only for the reason that you genuinely feel energized after listening to each episode. Cheers!

John does a fantastic service to the independent artist. Searching near and far for songs that the average listener would not typically discover in their own. His critiques are well thought out and he definitely discovers some excellent tunes to share with the listeners. He also comes up with some great talking points to engage the listener to participate in conversations and his interviewing skills with the artists that he features are very caring and well researched. Listening to the Song Surfing podcast gives you the feeling of shopping at your local record store and John is the friendly clerk that you can talk to for recommendations and share stories about music, which is something sadly forgotten in this age of technology. Highly recommended!!

What John does for Independent Artists is really remarkable! So much great music out there by home town bands, and it’s nice to see they have a champion! The variety is expansive but the quality is always 💯!

In a world of so much choice, it’s hard to find great music. Thankfully there is plenty out there and John has done the hard work for us. John unearths independent artists and musical gems with each and every episode. So strap on your ear goggles, sit back and surf the globe and musical genres with John.

John goes out of his way to bring some of the best Indie music to his listeners. Always an enjoyable listen and always superb music. I particularly enjoyed the eposide where youtuber Pete Johns was interview and presented some of his favourite indie artists. Amazing podcast! So diverse and exciting!

I had the pleasure of chatting with John about my music on Song Surfing back in 2021. The podcast features an eclectic range of music by artists located all around the word. It is super inclusive and does not discriminate against any genre - admittedly I have discovered a few new obscure genres just from listening to one or two episodes! Highly recommended for listeners and artists - John is lovely, on and off air!
