How I Made My Family’s Dream Life A Reality

 

 

I’d like to tell you a story of how I manifested “Think, Believe, Create” in my own life”.

 

My last home was on an acre in the woods, on a sloped hill with a road that had a 60 mph speed limit out front. Not ideal for two growing boys that just wanted to make friends and swim in a pool in the summer, or play basketball outside.

 

As my boys grew older I realized that we needed a different reality. One that would allow the boys to ride bikes with their new friends around the neighborhood. For them to host impromptu sleepovers. That allowed for hours of swimming in the long summer days.

 

So I started dreaming up what subdivision life might be like.

 

I believed that I could make this new reality happen. Started looking for the perfect location, the home we could grow into as the boys got bigger and brought over teenage friends one day.

 

My family started buying into my vision. We walked through new homes. We took walks at night around our dream subdivision and envisioned what trick-or-treating might be like. Or what swimming in the community pool might feel like. We talked about which homes we liked best, went on tours, then planned out where to put furniture, claimed bedrooms, and picked out curtains.

 

I talked with my CPA and W2’d myself so I could get a bank loan. Then talked with the bank to understand how to make my dream a reality.

 

Within 6 months we closed on that house, in that subdivision. My boys made a BFF immediately with the boy across the street. We’ve had sleepovers and days where they all jumped on the trampoline until they were exhausted.

 

Almost every night my husband and I lay and bed and talk about how incredibly grateful we are for our beautiful home, and for the life we’ve created for our family.
