From The Podcast

The number one leadership skill in this communication age is public speaking. It has traditionally been classified as a soft skill but really it’s a meta-skill and a critical ability to have in your business tool belt. Since the days of Plato and Socrates, public speaking (oratory) has been a prized quality in leadership and still remains one of the best ways to gain credibility and followers. The art of rhetoric was born and public speaking has become the top tool for influence and persuasion in the worlds of politics and business. If you want to become a key person if influence in any field, you will need to master public speaking and presentation skills. We now know much more about the tools of influence and persuasion than the ancient Roman orators, thanks to luminaries like Robert Cialdini and Robert Greene, as well as many others. According to Linked In, persuasion was the most important skill to learn in 2019, and for good reason too. We are in a time where most jobs and work as we know it are in the process of automation thanks to developments in AI and robotics. Presentation skills and public speaking sit at the perfect nexus between education and entertainment that will mean those who possess these skills will still remain in demand. In the podcast, we’ll get to speak with professional speakers, as well as professionals who use speaking as a part of their branding and marketing. You’ll hear from psychologists, marketers, agents, actors, comedians and more as we discuss all things relevant to presentation and influence skills, even the dark side. Make sure you subscribe to never miss an episode.
